Stiff Lace: a photographic celebration

Saturday night I went to see a art show called stiff lace. All three artists showing their work were photographers. One of the artists I saw downstairs was my favorite. Her name was Janissa Hamilton. The strongest pieces I viewed were the photographs she displayed in light boxes. The pieces were beautiful they really showed a strong sense of style. How she framed the photographs with old window planes made the photographs more interesting and feel. They gave the photos a sense that you were looking out of a window and seeing what you saw in the photograph. My top two favorite of Janissas pieces are the girl who was with this ball of light almsot to replicate the sun. It gave a kind of fairy tale feel. My second favorite piece was the naked upper torso or a woman. I though this piece was beautiful because when you looked at it your first though was not oh this is a naked woman. The skin was deep blue and green pattern and and a fairy tale feel like how the other photographs were. She had other pieces at the show but they did not have as strong feel as the ones in the light box did. My advice to her would be to stay in the direction as those photographs are.
